Today We had the great honour of being invited to take part in the Annual U10 tournament in O'Loughlin Gaels club in Kilkenny city. With both the hurling and Camogie clubs taking part we all set sail on the bus at 7.15am this morning to be there for a parade at 9.30. We were paired with 4 other teams to play 15min games and started with Blackwater (wexford).. after nervous start we found our rhythm and won the game by 4 points, our 2nd game was against Borris o leigh maroons (Tipp) and after a bright start our opposition found a few scores to win by a goal... then onto the 3rd game against the Home club and after an epic match O'Loughlin gaels came out on top by 2 points. With the lads looking to get back on track we had a ferocious battle with Clarenbridge(Galway) and just scraped a win by the narrowest of margins. Our last game of the groupstage against Naomh Eanna from wexford was an epic show of skills and determination from both teams.. such was the skill level a clubperson from O'Loughlin gaels called the kids in after to say it was without doubt the best game of the tournament and a deserved draw was the result... neither one deserved to lose.. A rest followed with our lads having their lunch we were paired in the Div 3 final with the mighty Borris o leigh whites from Tipperary again and although we fought to the very end tiredness got the better of us and we lost by 2 goals. All in all it was a very proud day for our club. The kids were a credit to their parents and their clubs in both hurling and camogie and we gave a great account of ourselves. The futures bright for these boys and girls and we look forward to more great days like today. CTG AbΓΉ π€ππ€π
