CTG 2-14 Raharney 1-12

We made the long journey to Kinnegad last Saturday to play Raharney in the 3rd round of the championship. The first 15 minutes were close, with both teams going score for score, but we got the breakthrough we needed in the 17th minute with a well-taken goal from Aaron. After a few more points from both frees and placed balls, Aaron popped up with his second goal just before the break to give us a four-point lead at the interval, 2-6 to 1-5. The second half was a closer contest, with both teams exchanging points, but we never relinquished our lead and ran out comfortable five-point winners in the end. This win leaves us in a four-way tie at the top of the table. We play fellow table-toppers Turin in the fourth round. We would like to thank Raharney and the County Board for moving this match forward. We also wish Conor Maloney a speedy recovery from the nasty jaw injury he picked up in the second half.
