SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP

We travelled to Cusack Park last Sunday evening to face Clonkill in the 3rd Round of the Championship.As the scoreline suggests this was a very one sided affair throughout .We came out of the blocks very fast for this contest and had 9 points on the board 8 from play before Clonkill registered their 1st score in the 12th minute.We kept the momentum going right through the half and just before the half time whistle a long range free from Niall dropped into the net to leave us up 1-15 to 5 at the interval.Again in the 2nd half we started very strongly and David O’Reilly had the ball in the net twice in the 1st 2 minutes.We got 3 more goals 1 from Peter Clarke and Niall completed his hat-trick to give us a very comprehensive win.We play Fr Daltons in the penultimate round in 2 weeks..Team..Ciaran O Brien, Naoise McKenna, Aaron Glennon, David Maloney, Morgan Gavigan, Jack Murphy, Johnny Birmingham, Aonghus Clarke(0-5)Peter Clarke(1-2),Liam Varley(0-2)Niall O’Brien(3-11),David O’Reilly(2-3)Jack Gallagher(0-1)Subs Used..Dean Slevin(0-1),Odhran Gavigan, Conor Murphy, Mick Heeney, Sean Jackson.
