U14 Division 2 County Champions.
A fantastic game of hurling was what can only describe this match in Robinstown on Saturday morning against a very skillful Clann na gael team.. Our lads were fast out of the blocks and led by 2 points to no score after 3 minutes but clann na gael found their feet and started hurling really well.. a dominant 10 minutes had them leading 1.04 to 0.03 but our lads stayed with them and a super goal by Daire Jackson had us back to 2 point game. A bit of back and forth before clann struck for a very well taken goal before half time to leave the score 2.07 to 1.05 at the break with our lads all to do..
The second half was played at a frantic pace and some very well taken scores. A free dropped short and that man again Daire reactions were on point as he beat two lads and buried a goal to bring it back to 3 points.. but clann na gael had more to say and a 21 yard free was buried to the ctg net to bring it back to 6 point lead.. clann added a point to take a 7 point lead with as much time to play.. then our opposition had a player sent off and when the resulting free dropped into the square senan Jackson was there to finish to the net and our lads could taste blood.. A monster free by Graham reduced the score to 3 point game and come the man come the hour that man senan Jackson buried a goal to draw us level heading for injury time.. clann attacked from the puck out and a long ball Conor King jumped to the clouds to field a ball and out he came like a man possessed.. ran 50 yards and passed to Liam O'Domhnaill who was fouled.. Our leader and captain Graham stepped up to score the resulting free and with that the final whistle went and our lads had do the double with league and championship double. Jubilation on the pitch after and lads were treated to some well deserved pizza in the clubhouse after. Ctg Abu ⚫️ 🟡
